Garden Project | EDO

Cloches function like greenhouses, but on a miniature scale. They are used to protect rows of low-growing plants or to cover individual plants in ornamental gardens.

Concept
Edo consists of three parts, the roof, four spheres and the main part. The roof part can be turned upside down as needed to collect water or to prevent it from entering. From the roof, there are one or more threads that lead the water directly to the plant roots. The four spheres are connected to the body but can be removed. They form a gap between the roof and the main body, which provides ventilation on hot days.

One inspiration for our ventilation system was the wind towers in North Africa, where the fresh air enters through the gaps from one side and the warm air leaves from the other
